Brook Fox – Rome (2026)

Obsession isn’t always a good thing, but when obsession turns into something creative, engaging, and a place for people to find some solace in dark times, well, it’s not such a bad thing. In fact, it’s quite good. This is the case with singer-songwriter Brook Fox, who discovered a passion for music that bloomed into a zealous pursuit of something greater in musical form. From the ashes of the Covid lockdowns, Welsh artist Brook Fox began writing songs, and as time progressed, he quickly earned a reputation for confident, powerful performances with engaging, bold tunes. The latest addition to his discography is the single, ‘Rome’.

Following his well-received single ‘Together’, ‘Rome’ is the second track from Fox’s upcoming debut EP, Everybody’s In Love (set for release on May 22nd, 2026). Produced and recorded with industry professional, Tim Hamill, ‘Rome’ retains the indie-rock sound heard in ‘Together’, but there is a heavier, harder energy lifting and blasting through the melody. Leon Williams’ drums crash in the background, keeping the rock-filled beat, while William Ellis’ bass guitar winds alongside in a deep groove. Alex Owens’ guitar dances across and slices through the melody.

Each of the instruments works together in a harmonic whole, yet they also stand tall with individuality and prominence. In the rush of music, Fox’s rich vocals shine with a silvery brightness, also standing alone while blending in the dance. For me, ‘Rome’ certainly highlights the energy of the band’s live performance, showcasing the camaraderie and understanding of every member; no need to speak, just play.

Melodically, ‘Rome’ is an indie-rock ride of music, but it is the lyrical element that increases the weightiness of the track. Brook Fox explains:

“It’s an indie-rock take on the current state of the world, a kind of social commentary touching on themes like elites, billionaires, and the sense that everything is “in flames”. But I didn’t want it to feel heavy or defeatist. There’s a thread of hope running through it, because that’s what people really need in times like these.”
