Cable Street Riot – Everything We Didn’t (2026)

Should you be a fan of Interpol, New Order and The Cure, the chances are you’ll quite fancy Cable Street Riot. Hailing from Los Angeles, Cable Street Riot leans toward the mystique of post-punk, yet rubs the melodies with a shine of dark alternative rock circa 1990s/2000s. From writing to production and everything else involved in creating a track, Cable Street Riot is a one-man show – independent with no truly fixed genre. The latest addition to his discography is the single, ‘Everything We Didn’t’.

Have you ever sat back and looked at experiences in hindsight; hindsight’s such a wonderful and regretful thing, isn’t it? With ‘Everything We Didn’t’, Cable Street Riot taps into those moments of nostalgia, reminiscence, and poignant introspection. He explains:

“The song grew out of a simple realisation: the things that stay with us aren’t usually the milestones. They’re the ordinary moments. The afternoons. The conversations… [It is] a song about memory, growing older, and the people, places, and missed opportunities that stay with us long after they’ve gone.”

As I mentioned, ‘Everything We Didn’t’ is entirely Cable Street Riot, embracing a DIY attitude and offering insight into labours of love, earnest zeal, and authentic individuality. Following ‘Backstreet Driver’, the new single is a blast of music, hitting you between the eyes from the outset. Synths don’t shimmer, they pierce. Guitars don’t soar, they swerve and slice. Drums don’t pound, they thrash and crash. Every moment is a second of frenzy, with a strong blast of punk chaos bursting at you with crazed eyes, bared teeth, and a sweep into that psychedelic tunnel heading to Wonderland.

Oddly enough, while there is an urgency to ‘Everything We Didn’t’, a harmonic unity holds each element in a tapestry of sound. It’s rushed and brash, but everything seems set in its designated space for a hard-hitting effect. My one warning: brace yourself, this isn’t for the faint-hearted.
