CSK – Rock N Roller (2020)

CSK used an instrumental soundscape to capture the subtle feelings of new developments and change in ‘Sojourn’. The music is now taking a spooky turn with ‘Rock N Roller’ featuring vocals from Callum Martin. The spooky drive of the melody takes you through the twists of the desert and dive bars.

The combination of spooky melodic elements from CSK melds with the effortless vocals of Martin. Together, they create a single that offers a heartfelt performance with a story resting in the melody just waiting for you to see it. The single was recorded in remote locations and never in the same room before being mastered by Two Zero Nine.

‘Rock N Roller’ hits you with a creepy vibe from the first light tone. The twinkling notes make you think of horror movies where an antique music box starts to play. These tones continue through the song to carry the spooky vibe of the melody. Below the light tones is a funkier sound that has a touch of the 70s to it. While these tones are not as spooky, they have their own ominous feel to them. There is a great flow to the melody that slides against you as it drives you ever forward into the soundscape.

Martin’s vocals bring a hint of dive bars in the desert to the song. There is something wonderfully dry about his performance that effortlessly draws you in, particularly on the chorus. The movement of his vocals has a floating feeling to it like a warm breeze gently stirring dusty sands. While the vocals bring more rock to the song, he adds to the spookiness through a drawing storytelling.

CSK has teamed up with Callum Martin for the melodic spookiness of desert dive bars that is ‘Rock N Roller’. The single combines creepy high tones with a flowing ominous guitar for the spooky melody. Over this is Martin’s vocals that add a touch of dryness and his own creepy vibes.
