Praveen Koval – Goodnight My Love (2026)
Like Scheherazade, Praveen Koval entrances people with fascinating stories, taking you to another place while still keeping you in the present moment. A storyteller, filmmaker and musician, the US-based artist looks to connect with audiences on an intimate level with personal experiences deepening that feeling of comfort, peace and solace. This is not our introduction to Koval, having reviewed his single ‘Handprint’, so it’s another step into his musical adventure. Join us as we take a look and listen to ‘Goodnight My Love’.
Following ‘Handprint’, ‘Goodnight My Love’ sits solidly in the contemporary pop genre, but with an obscurity peeking in its arrangement. Self-recorded and produced, the track is synth-driven, embracing electronic elements; a bold beat pulsates in the background. Yet, while the electronic textures are a melodic heartbeat wrapped in a sonic shiver of pop delicacy, Koval’s vocals insert that mentioned obscurity. Off-kilter in one way, but also soothing and a layer of warm comfort in another.
Melodically, ‘Goodnight My Love’ has a tranquil, mellifluous effect, the vocals flowing harmoniously with the instrumentation. It is, however, the lyricism that adds a full-bodied attitude. Penned as a gift for his wife, Koval explains:
“We spend nearly one-third of our lives asleep. That made me wonder: when you truly love someone, even those hours can feel like time spent apart. What if love is so deep that sleep no longer feels like separation? What if dreams become another place to meet? ‘Goodnight My Love’ explores that feeling of love, longing, intimacy, and connection that goes beyond waking. It reflects the quiet comfort of knowing that some bonds remain with us, even in our dreams. Some stories shape us. Some stories heal us. Some stories remind us what it means to love. This is one of mine.”
