The Delta Sound – Everybody Knows (2026)
UK-based band The Delta Sound may have formed in a Brixton bar during 2019, but they moved beyond the pub stalls, open mic nights, and pints, reaching audiences far and wide. With international radio features, critical acclaim in publications (including The Other Side Reviews – that’s us!), confident performances, and a growing following, The Delta Sound turn heads with their sonic sauntering through rock, blues, and indie. The latest addition to their discography is the single ‘Everybody Knows’.
Following the well-received single ‘Take Your Pity Home’, Sam Piper, Andrew Gladwell and Leo Fedorcio shift to a heavy blues flavour with ‘Everybody Knows’. I might have compared The Delta Sound to acts like Oasis in previous material, but ‘Everybody Knows’ holds no comparison. Produced by Gladwell, the track begins with steady drums in the background and a bass bringing both a slick clip of rock and a solid beat. Then, while the lead guitar keeps a lingering bluesy tone, it builds on the bass and drums with soaring, classic rock-inspired flair.
This song might not be one you take out the air guitar to, but it’s one that will bring out your cheeky, mischievous side from the first chord. In one way, this sensation aligns with the inspiration of a breakup – looking more at the aftermath; in another, it’s the frustrated “well, stuff you as well” point. Guitarist and vocalist Sam Piper explains:
“I found it quite entertaining following the end of a relationship years ago when mutual friends initially took sides in the immediate aftermath of the breakup but soon realised the other party wasn’t so holier than thou. The crocodile tears and first world problems must have worn off on them in the end. That’s why they’re all in the pub with me these days and not her.”
An empowering rock track, with the impishness of blues wound in the melody, ‘Everybody Knows’ is the song you find amidst the undiscovered pile and just can’t stop thinking about. I cannot wait for the release of their upcoming EP, Somewhere Out There.
