Adopting a DIY approach to music production, ‘Take Your Time’ brims as a labour of love – all intimately created with a loving heart, a warm smile, and a desire to take you beyond the confines of your armchair. Finding a sweet spot between old-school indie-rock and modern-day electronic-pop, ‘Take Your Time’ caresses you with a smooth rock-inspired flow and synthetic underpinning flecking the fringes.
While ‘Take Your Time’ is a moving melody, the crashing drums, strumming acoustic guitar, and percussion act like a sonic path – breezy and clear with the twinkle of fairies lining the path among the whispering trees. With each chord, you take another step into this adventure. You feel confident, comfortable, and filled with a sincere intimacy perfectly oozing from The Coastal’s music; however, the mystical tinge of bold beats prick the air with simultaneously glittering shimmers and shy smiles.
Easy, languid and gentle on the ears and soul, ‘Take Your Time’ soothes in a sweeping wash of music. The rich vocals merely enhance the charm of the track – bold and comforting but with a vague veil of vulnerability. For me, The Coastal is, well, the gentle breath before any storm that may come. Highly recommended!!
