AM Shanley – Glitternailed (2023)
From Rising Artists Blog to Send Me Your Ears and Music For All, Northern Irish singer-songwriter AM Shanley is reaching audiences across the globe with his heart-wrenching music. Just over two years ago, AM Shanley made his way onto The Other Side Reviews with his debut track ‘Redshifting’ and now he is back with ‘Glitternailed’. Come with us as we take a gander (or rather a listen) at this new single.
Recorded at Analogue Catalogue Studios with Julie McLarnon, ‘Glitternailed’ is a soft, soothing and dreamily atmospheric slice of music. Incorporating the talents of Graham Bingham (lap steel), Ciaran McGreevy (bass), Katie McGown (piano) and Chris McCann (drums), ‘Glitternailed’ has a wistfulness flowing through the melody. Interestingly enough, while the instrumentation creates a kaleidoscopic flood of sound, it is AM Shanley’s dreamy vocals that make the single completely intoxicating.
Featured on the soundtrack to the Disney original series Extraordinary, ‘Glitternailed’ can send you off on that beautiful cloud Disney always presents. As part of the superhero comedy series, it adds a poetic elegance to the soundtrack capturing the fuzzy smiles of the characters. Then again, I have not seen Extraordinary so whether ‘Glitternailed’ captures the essence of the show, I would not know. I like to believe it does.
