Lewca – Like Liam Gallagher (2026)

Finding inspiration in Belgian beer, expensive rum, The Streets, Eminem, weed, and general debauchery, Lewca saunters across the realms of pop, hip-hop and alternative rock in his eclectic music. Hailing from the UK, Brixton to be exact, and residing in France, Normandy to be exact, Lewca began studying fine art and dabbling in film; however, it was music that drove him to make something before he was “too old to die young”. Over the years, he performed in numerous bands, but in 2018 he took the plunge into a solo project; hence, Lewca was born.

In 2024, Lewca went on a forced hiatus after almost dying of a lung infection, but that didn’t deter the brazen musician. Pumped full of passion, and maybe some rather delayed piques from prescribed medication, he came back from the brink of death expecting “world domination and unfathomable wealth, obviously.” The first spark of his fantastic return is the single, ‘Like Liam Gallagher’.

Joined by Parisian beatmaker S.O.A.P (also known as DJ sonofapitch), ‘Like Liam Gallagher’ jumps from Lewca’s 2023 collection of hip-hop tunes, Boombap for Boomers, to a heavier rock tone. Fluttering across pop-rock, alternative rock and even some skips of ska deeply entrenched in the tune, the single brims with bravado while retaining that cute, shy-guy sweetness behind its winking cheekiness.

To be honest, I was entirely unsure what to expect when I hit the play button on ‘Like Liam Gallagher’. A hip-hop-crusted version of an Oasis song? Not at all what I got. Pumping beats with a heavy edge, the melody can have you strutting along; but it is Lewca’s vocals that up the ante with his British inflexion. If you know about the significance of tea and biscuits, then the lyrical outlay will have you grinning. If you don’t, well that’s no problem because Lewca and S.O.A.P are here to instruct.

So, overall opinion of Lewca? Undeniably entertaining and definitely one to remember.
