Sean MacLeod – I’ve Seen You Around (2026)
From Britpop and indie-rock to indie-pop, folk-rock and some avant-garde sensibilities in some songs, Sean MacLeod is unafraid to saunter through several genres. He walks along, catches some sonic flowers, and creates a bouquet of kaleidoscopic music that might be labelled, but mostly drifts between a couple of styles. An established artist in the UK indie-pop scene, the Ireland-based musician is known for an enigmatic, engaging, energetic and inspiring performance, as well as all those qualities brimming in his melodies. The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘I’ve Seen You Around’.
Following the well-received single ‘Take Control (Don’t Let ‘Em)’, MacLeod presents the first track from his upcoming experimental album, We Don’t See That We Don’t See – set for release later this year. Upon a quick look, one will notice that ‘I’ve Seen You Around’ was featured on MacLeod’s 2025 New Start album, but will we really argue with attention being drawn to this track as an independent single? So far, I’m completely cool with it.
Finding the sweet spot between simplistic calm and intricate whimsy, ‘I’ve Seen You Around’ has an ethereal, almost fairy-like haunting to its melody. Hazy and perfumed, listening to the single is like wading through a sonic forest – glistening trees, a gentle breeze, and a quick chill dancing across your skin. Moreover, each of the instruments captures the emotion within. Percussion wandering in the background, a bass clipping the air, and strings filtering across an experimental concoction of dark indie-pop and wistful Britpop.
Sean MacLeod is one of the artists featured regularly on The Other Side Reviews – so, with shameless promotional attitudes, be sure to check out our other reviews of his music. When it comes to ‘I’ve Seen You Around’, the raw emotion and tender passion he is known for continue to ooze from the single. With the promise of an upcoming album, I am eager to hear more from the Irish artist.
In addition to the single, Sean MacLeod released an official music video for ‘I’ve Seen You Around’. You can view the video below and/or on his YouTube channel.
