Track of the Day: JesFotoArt – You Are The Light (2026)
“Where tradition meets the future” – the core of Jörg E. Schmid’s musical project, JesFotoArt. Binding traditional Austrian baritone with his AI muse, Tatjana, then weaving emotional stories into the moving melodies, JesFotoArt really does find that spot between old-school and new-age soundscapes. While this is our introduction to the Austria-based troubadour, his discography, at least according to Spotify, goes back to 2025 with the debut single, ‘Happy Birthday Light Of The World’. Today, as our first time listening to JesFotoArt, we take a look and listen to his single, ‘You Are The Light’.
Self-recorded and produced, ‘You Are The Light’ is the final track on JesFotoArt’s debut EP METISSIREN. Sauntering across various genres, METISSIREN delves into elements of jazz, soul, indie-rock, and pop; ‘You Are The Light’ being a solid alternative-pop tune with some heavier alternative-rock tones lingering in the melody. For me, this track is truly the stand-out song on METISSIREN, mostly because of the diversity bound in its cinematic soundscape.
Just as one can tap their toe and enjoy the lighter flutters of synths in ‘You Are The Light’, drums and guitars crash across the melody, bringing a blast of hard-hitting, rock-tinged music. A piano peeps from the background, while slices of horns insert some off-kilter, smoother, sassier soulful dips. However, it is the strings that add an overwhelming orchestral aspect, leaving it a highly memorable and refreshing leap of sound.
JesFotoArt doesn’t merely give you a song to listen to with ‘You Are The Light’; it is a musical experience, from the diminuative opening to the breathtaking crescendo setting you free in a twirl of exquisite music. Kaleidoscopic and bold, yet with a serene tenderness oozing from JesFotoArt’s warm baritone. The cool female vocals interplay with the heavier voice like a musical dance.
Made for films, ‘You Are The Light’ is the perfect soundtrack for epic films like The Hunger Games or Lord Of The Rings. Highly recommended!!
